Macth ReportAt the USA South playoff in Atlanta, Georgia, the Trident RFC defeated Nashville 35-29 in a back and forth match. Miami started the contest with a dilligent first half where they came out hungry and took a 20-0 halftime lead. Tries by fly half David Hogan and fullback Oliver Curtis resulted from opportunistic backline play which took excellent advantage of an overcommitted Nashville defense.

The second half provided some surprises for the travelling Trident side. Penalties and successful mauls by Nashville's pack made the contest exciting before Curtis' boot proved decisive with 7 penalty kicks.

When the whistle blew, Miami found themselves victorious. They will play the Cincinnati Wolfhounds midwest region representative on March 31st at Bicentenial Park in Miami.

Macth ReportOnce again the Miami Tridents had a shaky start allowing Miami RFC to score first with a back play that went right through the middle of the tridents back line defence .
Right after Miami scored, the Tridents went right back and 5 minutes later scored a nice try by hooker Walter Garcia. The game was tied almost the rest of the half. The Tridents were kicking the ball to much and allowing the other team to attack a lttle bit to much also but in the end of the first half we scored another try by number 8 Anibal Martini to take the lead to the half time 12 to 5 .

Macth ReportThe Tridents played their second test match and add another victory to their preseason .
The game started a little bit messy for the Tridents and adding a referee with a attitud problem it took a while to get into the game but once we settle down the Tridents score 3 trys in the first half to go into the half time with a 23 to 8 lead.
In the second half the coach made several changes to try different players and even with all the changes their manage to add 10 more points to end the game 33 to 11. Overoll we play ok "Coach said" but we need to improved a lot before playing Miami RFC next week

Tridents eliminated by Palmer RFC Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Macth ReportThe Miami Tridents traveled to Davenport, Iowa missing a lot of the starting players due to work, school and money issues .
The Tridents arrived to Iowa with 18 players missing the two starting props, One due to work problems couldn't traveled and the other prop traveled Saturday morning but in Atlanta his fly was over booked and he couldn't make on time for the game. We had to play with our number 8 as a prop and with a prop reserve, That wasn't the only problem one of the wing got injury warming up and we didn't have a back replacement so we had to use a second row as a winger, Now since we moved the number 8 to prop we didn't have a full backrow so put a new player who just start playing rugby as a second row less that a year ago as flanker .
Even with all this problems we put a full team in the field but this team couldn't do anything against a very well organize and very fast Palmer rugby who won the game 68 to 0.
The Tridents would like to Thanks all the people who made the trip and represent the Miami Tridents RFC in Iowa as the only team in Florida who made it to Division 1 South Playoffs
Next time we hope that everybody will be able to travel so we can put a better team on the field and represent The Miami Tridents rugby in a better way

Macth ReportThe Tridents closed the First round of the D1 season this Saturday against Ft Lauderdale, Tridents played the game with the B side trying to give them some playing time, The game turn up more difficult that we thought but in the end the Tridents B came out with the victory over a very average Ft Lauderdale team, The Tridents claim the South D1 3rd place in the First year in Division 1.
Now the Tridents move to the Second round of the South D1 championship, In April 1st the Tridents have to travel to Iowa to face Palmer RFC if the Tridents win the will be heading to South Carolina to play the D1 National Championship on May 13th.
